Alberta's Largest Pond Tour!
Water Works Ponds was pleased to host the Tenth annual Parade of Ponds Tour. The Edmonton 2011 Parade of Ponds Tour was held in July. This year's benefactor was the invaluable Dog's With Wings Assistance Dog Society. This specialist group of dedicated people train and graduate sufficient, qualified guide and assistance dogs. These highly trained dogs enrich someone's life by helping them to become more independent, and to enhance their ability to contribute to the community through their careers, educational studies and volunteer work.
This, Alberta's largest pond tour, and likely the largest in Canada, is self-guided tour that allows tour participants to visit as many private water gardens as they wished. With 37 high quality water gardens to choose from, they were spoiled for choice.
Tour participants were inspired by cascading waterfalls, babbling brooks, twisting streams and colourful fish darting around playfully in their clear water homes. As with every tour, seasoned tour participants were able to enjoy new water gardens.
The Parade of Ponds Tour features water gardens that have been professionally designed and built using the Water Works Ponds ecosystem.
A special thank you to all the exhibitors and garden centres who participated in making Alberta's largest Parade of Ponds pond tour a reality.
Also, we wish to take this opportunity to thank all the tour participants for your enthusiasm and contributions to such a worthy foundation, the Dog's With Wings Assistance Dog Society.
